FGS Ft. Wayne - Allen County Public Library
Bus trip (April 21, 2020)
The Flint Genealogical Society is sponsoring a trip to the Ft. Wayne Allen County Public Library
21 Apr 2020. We will be leaving Flint (at a place to be named) at 7:00 a.m. and returning to the same place approximately midnight. We are looking at a 40 passenger bus with the usual amenities aboard. Due to the usual reasons, cost of the trip is a bit more than in previous years. Tickets for this trip
will be $55 for nonmembers and $50 for FGS members. A $25 deposit will hold your seat with a $10 non-refundable amount if you cancel.
If the Society cancels the trip, all monies will be returned.
Full payment will be due on Mon, 13 Apr 2020. Checks can be made out to the Flint
Genealogical Society and given to me at either the March or April General Membership meetings. The Ft. Wayne library is the largest genealogical depository east of the Mississippi and the
second in the nation. Looking at their web site, you will find numerous places for finding information. The shelves are open stack, meaning you can peruse the shelves looking at all of the books from the area in which you are interested. Computers, film readers and other pieces of equipment for obtaining information are available. You can take your own computer and hook into their wi fi. You should be able to secure it (lock it to the chair) if you leave the area. If you are a novice, or have been at it since the ark landed, you should be able to find more than
you can assimilate in the day’s time. At any rate, you will find that you may not have enough time to get everything you want. See you in Ft. Wayne
